The Village
Hello!
My name is Keasha
Welcome to Cultivate The Land, a blog in which I tell tales from the 1400s to the 1950s in this territory that we refer to today as Canada! The tales I tell are positioned through the lens of my varied background: As an archaeologist, I look for objects. As a landscape archaeologist, I look for meaning in landscapes. As an environmental advocate, I look for strategies for people and organizations to find a place within environmental citizenship.
Since 2019, Cultivate The Land Incorporated has provided educational content on how humans developed Canadian lands. This journey into Canada’s past includes an exploration of landscapes, maps, landscape-specific artwork, government perspectives, geography, the acknowledgement of Indigenous land claims, and the impact of colonialist legacy on land and territory in present-day Canada. Cultivate The Land is a creative supplement to my consultancy firm, which provides strategic approaches to help organizations bridge the gap between heritage and environmental sustainability.
